Germinare
Germinare’s mission is to empower committed and driven low-income children through education, by providing them access to quality, long-term academic training. We aim to enrich their personalities and make a positive difference in their environments and future. Parents and responsible adults also benefit from our programs.
When we began 23 years ago, we recognized that education is the most effective path to social mobility. We understood that there were children from vulnerable families who possessed the capacity and determination to make an effort. These children deserved the opportunity to progress through quality education. Despite the challenges—being a program against the current and seemingly impossible—we embarked on this intensive, qualitative, and innovative journey in Argentina.
Today, over 600 families are part of Germinare. They represent the culmination of our efforts over the years. Our commitment is to accompany them on this remarkable adventure, serving as a model for those who will join us in the years ahead.
Programs:
· “Agents of Change”
At Germinare, we identify children from vulnerable environments with average intelligence, no learning difficulties, and dissatisfaction with their current educational situation. These children recognize that quality education is their path forward and are willing to make sustained efforts to achieve it.
We conduct a rigorous admission process, evaluating their basic academic knowledge and analyzing their family and social context. Subsequently, they engage in an intensive 14-month academic and personal development program, receiving over 750 hours of classes and participating in Personal Growth Workshops.
Lastly, Germinare enrolls scholarship recipients in quality educational institutions, starting in the first year of secondary school. Over 60 academically strong partner schools collaborate with Germinare, offering scholarships to students across the Province of Buenos Aires (Campana/Zárate, Pilar, and Tigre) and in the city of Buenos Aires.
· “Alumni Network”
This program targets students who graduate from the “Agents of Change” Program. Its focus is on ensuring the continuity of their university or tertiary studies and preparing them for the workforce.
We have partnerships with major universities and tertiary institutes in Buenos Aires, granting scholarships to our students. Often, these students are the first in their families to attend university and become professionals. Germinare supports them during their penultimate year of high school, providing vocational guidance, tools, training, and concrete opportunities for a successful transition to the working world.
The program also fosters a sense of belonging, allowing young people to exchange experiences and build a community.
Our Impact
According to the Impact Evaluation study conducted by the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Germinare directly impacts over 14,000 individuals—children, youth, and adults. This research involved students, parents, classmates from new schools, sponsors, and school principals.
Our foundation centers around families—the vital nucleus of any community. For every child benefiting from the “Agents of Change” Program, there is a family that undergoes transformation. Over the years, parents modify their habits, envision a brighter future, and acquire new tools.
Our Goal Today
We aspire to do more! After over two decades of dedicated work, we have tangible results demonstrating Germinare’s impact. Now, it’s time to reach even more children. To achieve this, we rely on committed individuals like you.

SPONSORSHIP 2024
The Sponsorship program ("Padrinos") begins when a student receives a scholarship to attend the first year of secondary school in a new institution. Sponsors cover the educational costs for the child during the entire cursus, which can vary from 5 to 7 years, depending on the school district.
