“Our Lady of the Guard'' is a middle and high school located in the city of Neuquen (Patagonia Argentina) that offers, not only catholic education, but also several workshops to more than 280 students from most vulnerable neighbourhoods of the city, in order to provide them with tools that will enable them to build their future.
Although the State covers the salaries of the teaching staff, the institution must pay for the rest of the expenses, among which one of the most significant is the electricity consumption for the use of tools and equipment in the carpentry, blacksmithing, gastronomy and bakery workshops.
In order to guarantee the sustainability of these training spaces in the coming years - in which energy costs are projected to increase -, being actively involved in the energy transition, and promoting the environmental awareness of the students, is that we project as an alternative the installation of a 20 KW inverter equipment with 80 solar panels, in line with the technical report produced by the Ente Provincial de Energía de Neuquén, that would imply the following savings for the school:
- Yearly kW consumed 42.188 kW
- Installing the 20kW equipment would save, 76,80% of the kW consumed
- Installing the equipment would reduce our energy expenses by 43,26%
Budget for the installation of the 20kW equipment and 80 modules: 40.000 USD
